Project KiTT gets a new homepage
Welcome to the Project KiTT logbook
This is the first entry in what will be a workshop journal keeping track of my progress as i modify and customise my car KiTT (which for stands for the Knight Industries Two Thousand and four)
As a bit of aside regarding the above title, the first computer i ever mucked around on as a child was called a Knight 2002 microcomputer, It was the second computer my dad ever owned and ran off 2 x 5 1/4 inch diskettes, one of which still resides in my computer to this day. The Knight 2002 itself was dismantled after one of my mum's clean up campaigns a few years ago - however i have salvaged many of its useful components. Being a pre IBM Compatible PC the only parts that can be used in todays computers are the 2 disk drives, but i removed all of its main procesing chips and onboard RAM chips and even kept the motherboard for the sake of memorabilia. I hope to integrate this into my car at some stage, however it won't ever be functional again. The other two items of note which i salvaged were the red "HAL" light on the front, and the 'Knight' logo, which i hope to incorporate as my logo for this project.
Back to my car, I hope that i can keep on top of all the progress made - I intend to photograph and document as much as possible for the benefit of myself and whoever else wants to read it. Its possible that this project or a component of it, will become part of my final year project for university (If i don't wrap my car round a pole before i get there, heaven forbid!)
Cheers - Mark
